The
Folkloric Ballet "IMAGES Of PERU '", was founded June the 7th
1998, by the initiative of Mrs. ALCIRA VIDAL and under the
artistic direction of her son, Professor ROBERT VELARDE.
Initially it was conformed in its totality by relatives, but at
the moment only some of them still participate.
During the 7 years that it has been working it has obtained many
awards, having in its staff champions of northern marinera,
tondero and huaylarsh, typical dances of Peru.
In
the year 2004 it was our international opportunity, we
participated in the XV INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL , in La
Serena, CHILE , and the last year we were the hosts of the I
INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL "IMAGES Of WORLD" -2005, in which we
had the participation of Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico.
Our
repertoire is ample, it includes dances of the coast, highland
and jungle of Peru, as much as the main manifestations of the
north, center and the south of the country. Our clothes are made
and embroidered by craftsmen, as part of the objective is always
to reach the authenticity of our ancestral customs. .
